How to borrow a book?
Have you found a book in SmartCat and do you want to borrow it? Here's how.
Answer
If you have found a book in SmartCat that you want to borrow:
- Are you in the library?
Beneath Check Availability>University of Groningen you will find the location, call number and current loan status of a print copy. Write down the call number (eg 50A 20), take the book from the shelf yourself and borrow it at the lending desk.
- Do you want to reserve the book and pick it up later?
Click the button Request if you want to reserve a book. A new window will open in which you can select to request 'any copy' or 'specific copy or volumes'. Use 'specific copy' only when necessary. Select a pick-up location. You will receive an email when the book is ready to be picked up.
